Hi Reader,
Last week hit all at once. Work was busy and home was chaotic. We're getting ready for my daughter, Isabell's, upcoming college graduation while my son and I work to wrap up the homeschool year.
By evening my brain still felt like it had fifteen tabs open and somewhere there was music playing. It was one of those weeks where sitting down felt like someone handed you an award.
That’s usually when I want to cave and order pizza... because no one wants to cook on those days. You're tired and ready to just drop. But it’s never just pizza. It’s the drinks, dessert, and random add-ons that somehow turn exhaustion into a $60 decision.
So we kept the week simple instead: sandwiches, pasta, leftovers, and one upside-down dinner with scrambled eggs, because eggs still show up even when the rest of life is questionable.
None of it was fancy, but it worked. We survived the week, and we definitely spent less money. And those small choices (like choosing to save money and cook at home instead of splurging on pizza night) are exactly how an emergency savings account slowly grows.
This month, I’m focusing a lot on saving money, building financial breathing room, and finding realistic ways to keep more cash in your pocket without making life miserable.
